Luckman, a former single-wing star at Columbia University, brought the perfect blend of physical and leadership abilities to his 12-season role as pro football's first successful T-formation quarterback. In 1943, Luckman delivered when he completed 110 of 202 passes for 2,194 yards and 28 touchdowns while leading the Bears to their third championship in four years. Sid led the Bears in a 73-0 victory over the Washington Redskins in the 1940 NFL title game. He once threw 7 touchdowns in a 1943 game and another five in the 1943 championship win over Washington. He also had an impressive 107.5 quarterback rating for the 1943 season. Luckman was a nine time All-Pro from 1940-48. He retired having participated in 128 regular season games, passing 1,744 times, completing 904, for 14,686 yards and 137 touchdowns.
